Construction of Ghost Base
All Ghost saddles have the same base. This base is completed with panels and a seat. The base and panels determine the fitting to your horse, the seat changes the looks and gives support to the rider. The bases are available in 3 sizes: Standard, Piccolo and Bambini. It is easy to switch seats. Your saddle can change from a dressage model into a saddle for hacking in minutes. There are many different seats to choose from.

One base for many models, simply change out the seat!
Materials
The seats can be made from numerous types of leather and synthetic material. GHOST is always searching for new material. We will try to show you some of the possibilities. Pictures will always be different from the real product, also because leather is a product of nature.
The base - the core of your GHOST saddle - is made from layers of strong and flexible material.
-
Micropell (synthetic leather)
-
Montecchio (fabric from Nylon and Polyurethane)
-
Carbon Fibre (reinforcements around the stirrup- and rigging)
-
Bio thane Granite (straps and belting)
-
Steel (1 mm inside the arch)
-
Stainless steel for rings and studs
Panel Types and Construction
The Velcro opens up to reveal the foam and Formo inside.
The Velcro attaches to the underside of the Ghost Base Support.
Covered in Sympanova grippy mesh.
This panel configuration can be opened and adjusted for various riding conditions.
Showing the 3 layer of foam: 1 x Blue (Denser foam), 2 x Black (softer foam) which sits closest to the horse.
Sits on top of the foam panels.
This panel is not able to be opened to adjust panel thickness. Great for riders that want a no-fuss panel!
Sympanova in the middle with air-shell material at the ends.
Non adjustable panel
This is the most commonly ordered panel as it offers the horse the greatest protection. Perfect for the heavier rider and/or the long distance rider.
Showing the different compression of blue vs black foam: Blue foam is denser than Black foam.
This is used to make the panels 'pockets' for the adjustable panel system. This is available for all foam panel thicknesses. Great for riders that like to adapt the panel thickness for different riders/or conditions.
Used in the making of the Ghost Saddle Pads.
Formo is used in both types of panels: adjustable and non-adjustable. It is a thin, lightweight, semi-rigid material which increases even weight bearing of the Ghost Saddles.

Model Descriptions
The Ghost Quilty, Quevis and Florac are all models with a short flap, good for pleasure, trail and for those riders who love to have little between them and their horse. The Ghost Western (USA) is based upon these models, but has a skirt and a horn for the genuine western look. The Quilty has vertical thigh blocks, for the rider who likes to have the legs straight. The Quevis has the thigh blocks slightly angled and in a more forward position for riders who prefer to ride with shorter stirrups. The Florac has no blocks. The Ghost USA can be delivered with thigh blocks in both positions.
The Ghost Roma, Veneto and Barocco are dressage style saddles. Also available with a hidden pommel. The Roma has vertical thigh blocks, for the rider who likes to have the legs straight. The Veneto has the thigh blocks slightly angled and in a more forward position for riders who prefer to ride with shorter stirrups. The Barocco can be made with both types of thigh blocks.
Ghost Maremma and Cagliari are normal Ghost saddles, but made with a seat from real untreated sheepskin. You can order them in several styles. The Cagliari has longer flaps (such as the Roma) and the Maremma has the same shape as the Quilty and Quevis. You can order them with blocks, wild cut or with the same contours as one of the other models.
The Ghost Classic saddles have a double flap with Velcro blocks and a hidden pommel, for the “Classic” look. The Italy is a general purpose model. The Lipica is for dressage and the Flamenco has a nice Spanish look. They all have the same features as the other Ghost saddles.
